Now…where was I??
Thursday, March 5th, 2009Aha ! That shocked you didn’t it ! I’ve finally managed to get round to updating my weblog…so…
Pompey given new Hart
As I had hoped, Tony Adams has left Fratton Park…to be replaced by Paul Hart…until the end of the season at least…and why not. We’ve done alright under him over the last couple of games, and Chelski were lucky to beat us last night. I still think we’re going to struggle, but we’ve got a fighting chance under a manager who at least displays some grasp of the basics of football…
360 degree wheelspin
The classic Burnout Paradise has made it to the PC…and….we like the game very much here at Dunworking Towers…not quite as stunning as on the ‘360, but that’s only because the PC has many, many racing games all to itself.
Is that the time ?
I can’t believe it’s two years ago next Tuesday that I celebrated a “big” birthday…and with another one looming, it’s a little daunting to see how quickly time is flying by.
My life as a cat…
I’ve become a bit of a fan of Second life - a virtual world where anything can, and often does, happen. It’s escapism, it’s not real life, but it seems to tick the right boxes if you just want to “get away from it all” for a few hours…
And talking of cats…
The two feline felons have now grown into fine looking cats now, and with the nights drawing out, they’re often away from home doing whatever it is cats do when we don’t watch them…as for bringing wildlife home, worms seem to be the gift of choice at the moment…
The credit crunch
Ok…enough already…today has seen the Bank of England cut the interest rate to 0.5%, which would (a) be bad for savers and (b) good for borrowers…except that (a) no-one can save any more as they’re too dependent on those savings now the prices of everything has rocketed and (b) printing extra money doesn’t mean the banks will automatically lend more, so the squeeze stays on.
Would the last person leaving the UK, please turn the lights out…
