Play up pompey…but for how long ?

As I suspected, Jermain Defoe left Pompey for Spurs…and going by his performance against Wigan today, Spurs are welcome to him !. More seriously, Tony Adams is convinced that 4-5-1 is the right way for Pompey to play, and unbelievably thought a 0-0 draw at home to Championship side Bristol City in the F A Cup was something to be happy about. He must go ! And soon !

Pagham haven’t played a game since we were last here - the frost has seen to that. As I type this, the weather has warmed up a tad, so hoping that next week’s game will beat the weather…It’ll be good to get back to watching some live football rather than on Sky…talking of which…what is going on at Chelski ? Watched them against Man Utd this afternoon, and they were poor. Rumours of Abramovich wont have helped…but…

Book Your Face to Space My Bo Be !

With there being no footy, and as a consequence no excuse to be out in the sun, I’ve spent FAR too much time on Facebook these last few weeks…heads up to the following people;
Cathy (Play up Pompey!)
Jacky (Oi ! Get off my beach !)
Skeddy (We must do twigs in glasses soon !)
Jennie (Wot no batteries ?)
Carla (Hola ! Ola ! - can’t see the difference meself !)
Jackie (You want a number 2 with that number 5 ?)
Steve (Eh oop, ist’ that tha’s whippet, sithi ?)
Dave M (Norfolk is flat !!)
Dave R (Pleased you got your gas problem sorted)
Hayley R (So, how’s the zoo coming along?)

X-Box Xanadu…

My X-Box 360 reappeared from repair during the week. Looking forward to re-starting all my games after deleting my save files when formatting the hard drive. Here’s hoping this one will last longer this time…

Doctor “Who???!!!”

Matt Smith - New Doctor Who

So…Doctor Who number 11 is going to be Matt Smith…Who?…well, he was fairly good in “Party Animals”, but otherwise to a lot of people he’ll be an unknown. The same accusation was levelled by some at David Tennant, and he turned out to be, in my opinion, a superb doctor. I’m not so sure about Matt Smith…he just doesn’t seem right for the part…time will tell

Rats leaving a sinking ship near Portsmouth Harbour ?

Jermain Defoe...Soon to be leaving Portsmouth?

Jermain Defoe (above) could be the second big name player to leave Portsmouth FC. I’ve been surprised at the animosity toward him from fellow Pompey fans. He’s a damn good striker. However…he has gone off the boil of late, and the situation reminds me of when Yakubu left for Middlesborough…as soon as his head was turned by a lucrative transfer he lost interest in playing for Pompey. Defoe “called in sick” before we played Bristol City in the FA Cup yesterday (a dreadful 0-0 draw). Funny that, as he could have been cup tied…

I still hold Tony Adams partly responsible…it was he who dropped Defoe to accomodate a 4-5-1 formation that worked up to a point against Arsenal (who still won). We play better at 4-4-2…and the spectre of David Nugent looms large if Defoe goes…in my opinion…

New year, new prospects ?

Not if the current climate is anything to go by. I had a quiet Christmas (not least because I was let down by someone who failed to contact me as promised…dont you just hate it when people let you down ?). But still…the worst year I can remember is now in the past…and will move on.

Although looking into the past is something I’ve been doing a lot of these past few weeks…met up again with some old friends on Facebook…we’ve all changed in various ways, but it’s good to share the experiences we’ve had since we last were together…
