Cry in the Dark
Ok…Far Cry 2…is really beginning to piss me off. Yes, it looks great, yes it plays well, but nowhere near as revolutionary as I first thought. It seems to take bloody ages to get anywhere on foot (Although to be fair, the journeys by boat are good fun) and I’ve all but given up playing it at the moment. I may return to it once other things are completed

Put up your Dukes and fight
Duke Nukem 3D on the ‘360 has proved to be a good laugh. It’s none too hard, and only lack of time has stopped me finishing it whilst I’ve been off on holiday. There’s definitely something to be said for retro-gaming. Those long-lost classics are less “emperors new clothes” than games these days.

Booking a Face-off
I seem to have spent an inordinate amount of time on Facebook these last few days. If I remember I’ll put a link to my facebook page over there ==>
Friends I had not heard from for years have appeared, and it’s been quite an eye-opener to see what everyone has been up to since we all left school.

‘Tis the season to be jolly

No it damn well isn’t. We’re only in November. I don’t want to see tinsel, hear endless loops of “Deck the balls with cows called Molly”, or see dodgy Santas Grotto until December 24th at the earliest. Bah, Humbug.

Book Club
Does anyone else read those books of “facts” ? I’m a big fan of useless information (”Just like this weblog then…” - the readership) and have just got a trio of books filled with bits of knowledge you never thought you might need…daily factoids as from tomorrow (if I remember that is…)

What ? Where ? And more importantly….Why ?!

By ‘eck, it’s far too long since I last wrote on here…so…what has happened since…

TV Times
I’ve decided that Sanctuary is, in fact, crap. There’s been way too many derivative plot-lines in the first few episodes (Echoes of the “Tooms” episode from the X-Files, and a complete rip-off of “The Thing” as well) and I just don’t enjoy it much now.

Day of the Match
Harry Redknapp continues to perform wonders at Spurs. As he did at Portsmouth. “Gutted” doesn’t quite cover how I feel about Pompey…more “Very concerned for the future”…watch this space…

Get your Book out of my Face !

After a certain Spanish lady emerged in my e-mail the other day, I’ve been spending more and more time on Facebook in the last couple of days…is it me, or does it turn everyone into a childish nerd, making inane comments on each other’s “walls” ?! Oh, just me then

360 Degrees of heat

I’ve also found time to spend on my X-Box 360, and managed to cruise passed the on-line scores in two games owned by myself and a certain escapee from the “Nerd Herd” He’ll maintain it’s his fiancee who does all the gaming, but I know…I know who wears the trousers and fiddles with the game-pad there….(only joshing mate - I’m crap at PGR 4 !!)

Out of Africa

Far Cry 2 Is still hogging my PC, but on reflection, other than the graphics, it’s not much more advanced than games of the same time I was playing a few years ago. Still, it’s a damn fine blast, and much better than (in my opinion !) tosh like “Call of Duty 4″.

The Lions Roar

has been a tad quiet of late, as Pagham have had a variable set of results. Off to Horsham tomorrow…could see us edge toward the top of the table. Need to get above Wick for bragging rights across the interweb…

Evolution in Football

I’ve always been a fan of “Pro Evolution Soccer” over the “Fifa” games. They just seem much more playable which is important. If I want realistic teams and players, I’ll download an editor for
“PES 2009″
. If I want to sit mashing aimlessly on a game pad getting nowhere, I’ll play Fifa. I’ve played the demo for both, and the PES demo won by a mile. It’s just simply more approachable on the PC.

Christmas

Isn’t that far away now, and in the main, it’ll be a low-key festive period this year. I’m sure we’ll have fun, but like many millions of others, the “credit crunch” has bit hard, and we’ll have to make do with a turkey twizzler garnished with a holly leaf…
